Maxcia is certified through the Gottman Institute as an approved Gottman Seven Principles Leader. She facilitates Mindful Marriage workshops throughout the United States.
Maxcia sees her work as a life calling and is passionate about supporting couples and individuals as they learn to create strong marriages. Time and again, she has seen couples get stuck in the blame game without knowing how to move beyond their problems. She belives couples know how to get married, but don't know how to stay married - and what they don’t know does hurt them.
Maxcia believes that knowledge and education about creating healthy marriages is key to a happy and fulfilling relationship. Most of us come into marriage without preparation nor understanding about ourselves and our own needs, much less the needs of our spouse. Couples need solid skills and the chance to grow and change in a safe and loving environment. She firmly believes couples who learn to communicate well, listen with intent to understand, and nurture the good in each other, grow into the best versions of themselves. Her heartfelt desire is to instill both the hope and the skills to accomplish this transformation.
